A New Shirt for a new Year

New years is just around the corner so with that in mind here is the last Flashback Skinny Tee I made for Parker this year. A new shirt for a new year, its fitting isn't it? (pun intended ;0)

I used a shirt I found at Walmart, I know, I know but it was a dollar! I loved the colors and the feel of the fabric so I bought an extra large and cut it up then put it back together :0)
Look at his dreamy eyes... I can't get enough of his cuteness <3

Toys to bribe him for good non-blurry pictures is a must now that he can crawl. I bought the rib knit for the neckline and cuffs a lonnnggg time ago and have used it a lot I really love it and wish I had a ton more.

My favorite part of this pattern is the neckline fit, see how there is no gaps and puckering at the shoulder part? I hate it when shirts do that and so far I have used a few different types of fabric (not to mention how I messed the last one up) and it hasn't done that.

Cute boy! He has  just gotten some new teeth since this picture and it has sure changed his personality. he gets into way more stuff now and is exploring everything, even under my cupboards! My other boys never did that.

I have a project that I will be working on and posting soon I'm way excited about it! Its from Compagine patterns and I am very excited to share when I'm through but you'll just have to wait ;0)

Merry Christmas!

For the next few days I will be enjoying my family, eating and relaxing. The next two days usually go something like this: We always go look at lights and eat cheese and crackers on Christmas Eve, oh and open one present (usually Pajamas but not this year) then its off to bed or at least a poor attempt at bed and then we all wake up early and open gifts one by one until we are done. I'm getting more excited the more I write!
The rest of the day consists of lounging in Pj's, eating all the goodies on the Christmas table, playing games and with the new toys, tantrums (you know they happen ;0) and just being together. No fancy dinners or parties just a bunch of togetherness and eating food we don't usually eat ;0)

I wish there was snow at my house but there isn't a sign of even one snowflake for Christmas! I hope some of you get to go sledding or make good ol' fashioned snow angels then go drink a cup rich chocolatey cocoa with cream and marshmallows...alright now I need some too ;0) see you soon!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

11 months with a flashback

Parker is 11 months old! I'm not sure when or how it happened but it did.

I made a few flashback skinny T's for him around the time he turned 11 months.
I have a few more cut out to sew too but I'm not sure when that will happen, lol!

They turned out nicely even though I nearly messed this one up big time! I sewed the binding on the neck only to have it be way, way to wavy and like the lazy sewer I am I cut it off instead of unpicking. I then sewed a binding on the neck so its a little bigger in that area than his other shirts but I still quite wearable.

Even the back fits perfect and he is sooo cuddly in it I just want to SQUEEZE him! He's going to be spoiled alright, alright he Is spoiled, hahaha! Common I mean he is the youngest of four boys!

One last shot of his adorable smile and his top teeth that are just starting to come in. Seriously. Can he get any cuter?

flashback skinny tee for the bub

I caved and bought the flashback skinny tee pattern from Rae, I don't know why it took so long since I will get a ton of use from it buuuttt I just didn't want to spend the money! Now I can see it would have actually saved me $ and time if I had just bought it months ago!

It turned out quite well and I didn't even measure Parker first! I just made the 12 month size and hoped it would work, I don't always measure since it can be a pain and I usually regret it, this time was an exception however!

The fit, oh the fit! Its so perfect! And the sewing was very easy...although most T-shirts are easy I just liked that the fit was spot on and that makes sewing sooo much easier :0)

Ok so... I'm done.... but I'll share just a few more of this hunk of cuteness! Isn't he dreamy? <3 <3

Christmas Elves- an elf on the shelf alternative

With all the Elf on the shelf craze my boys have been begging to have one at our house. I wasn't sure how I felt about it though and when I saw the Imagination trees kindness elves I thought that was closer to what I wanted to try.

I found these elves (affiliate link) on amazon and thought they were cute so I bought them and decided to try our own version of what I call Christmas Elves. You see they don't only do kind deeds but they look for Christlike children, they like to make children laugh (they don't encourage mischief) and they like to encourge ways to for my boys to help others laugh.

For the elves to keep a record I found these little books for the elves to record the boys behavior, I thought it would be fun to look back on the things they have done each year as a sort of journal. I also made some passports for the elves to travel back and forth to the north pole, which was probably useless but I had fun making them!

Here is what they found on December 1st and they were SO excited! The elves have been much loved and they are excited every morning to see them in a new spot or to see what Christlike activity they have planned each day!

This is the paper I made to go along with our elves since Broc insisted that there was supposed to be something we read. I think it turned out cute and you are welcome to copy and print if you like! If you do use it and like it please reference my blog :o)

Its a bear, its a mouse, its a baby!

For Halloween I made Parker a cute little bear/mouse vest (the boys and I couldn't decide which he was so he is one or the other depending on the day).  Isn't he the cutest thing ever?! He seriously melts my heart <3
Ok on to the vest I didn't use a pattern I just traced around a shirt and kind of winged it. The hood is a bit crooked but it works and you can barely tell ;0)
I used the Tyedye Dives better baby pants (love that pattern!) and just cut off about an extra 1.5 inches from the side to make them into leggings. Next time I will do more since they were still a bit baggy. He wouldn't put down that little bottle of oil the whole time so I figured happy baby happy mommy and let him have it.

For the hood I used Kwik sews sewing for baby hood pattern (well I traced a hood I had made from that pattern ;0), I love that book!

I guesstimated for the ears and stuffed them with some polyfill to make them stick up. I used my KAM snaps (SO easy to use!) to close the front and wallah! a cute little vest that didn't take too much time and is super cute! He has been wearing it all the time so it wasn't reeaalllyy a Halloween costume just a super duper cute vest!
