18" Doll blanket and food

You remember my niece I made the Dresses for? Well June just had a birthday and since I was itching to make some doll stuff I decided that she really needed a blanket for her American girl doll.

And when you make a doll blanket you obviously need to make a pillow, a new skirt and then the dolly will need a snack, right? Right. My ten minute project turned into a few days worth of ten minute projects but I didn't mind :0)

The quilt is tiny, tiny scraps that I pieced together, added a backing (with extra for self binding) and free motioned it all together. The pillow is a simple square stuffed and hand stitched.

A doll skirt is the easiest thing to make. Really I promise! I used a simple rectangle hemmed on one side and added elastic by stretching while sewing a zigzag stitch and bam, done!

The food was hand stitched and the patterns were inspired from several around the web but made up by me.
June was so, so excited to get them and she gave me a great, great big hug! It was the best thing ever :0) She'll definitely be getting more dolly stuff from this Aunt! ;0)
